Meet the Team
Christine Hordeman
Founder
As a mom, lifelong animal lover, and business professional, Christine created Bunny Haven Cafe with the hope of building something truly meaningful for both people and animals.
For years, animals have been a source of comfort, joy, and calm in her life. She dreamed of creating a welcoming space where others could experience that same feeling - whether spending quality time with family, catching up with friends, celebrating a special occasion, or simply stepping away from the stress and busyness of everyday life.
The vision for Bunny Haven Cafe grew even stronger after learning about the widespread issues surrounding rabbit abandonment, neglect, and misunderstanding. Despite being one of the most commonly surrendered pets, rabbits are often overlooked and misunderstood. Christine saw an opportunity to create a unique experience that not only brings people together but also helps educate the community, support rescue efforts, and shine a light on these incredible animals.
Combining her background in business with her passion for animal welfare, Christine set out to create something that would leave a lasting impact. Through Bunny Haven Cafe, she hopes to inspire compassion, encourage responsible pet ownership, and provide a safe, enriching environment where rescue rabbits can help create meaningful connections with visitors of all ages.
Christine's goal has always been to create something that wasn't just another business, but something deeply personal and close to her heart - a place built around comfort, connection, education, and compassion, where every bunny has a story and every guest leaves with a smile.
Jessica Marziliano
Director of Operations
Jess Marziliano brings a rare blend of corporate leadership, rescue‑world dedication, and heart‑forward vision to Bunny Haven Cafe. After spending her professional career running billion‑dollar businesses and leading retail teams across the U.S. and Europe, Jess felt a pull she could no longer ignore - a desire to step out of the corporate race and devote her life to the animals who have always been her true passion.
Today, Jess serves as the Director of Kind Heart Rescue, a domestic rabbit rescue in Central New Jersey, where she oversees the care, rehabilitation, and placement of rabbits in need. She also spends her time supporting the Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic at the Jersey Shore Animal Center, working hands‑on to improve the lives of dogs, cats and rabbits throughout the area.
In 2025, Jess was honored with the Unsung Hero Award from the American Veterinary Medical Association - a recognition of her tireless advocacy, compassion, and behind‑the‑scenes impact on animal welfare.
Now, as Director of Operations at Bunny Haven Cafe, Jess is thrilled to bring her experience, her heart, and her mission together under one roof. She is committed to creating a space where rescued rabbits have a soft place to land, where guests can enjoy meaningful, consent‑based interactions, and where education and empathy are woven into every visit.
For Jess, Bunny Haven Cafe isn’t just a business - it’s the culmination of a lifelong calling to make the world gentler for animals and the people who love them.
